In the heart of Kisumu, Kenya, Vlada Sydorchuk continues to serve faithfully with the Assistance Mission, walking alongside those the world often overlooks. Her days are filled with stories of quiet resilience, warm meals, healing prayers, and the ever-present Word of God.

Every month, the Beds Project provides three bunk beds—complete with pillows, blankets, and mosquito nets—to families living in the slums. A single bed often becomes home to four or five family members. It’s tight, but it’s a place to rest, laugh, and feel safe.

At the Dunga church, the Feeding Project continues to serve daily dinners to over 130 people—orphans, elderly, and large families who cannot afford a meal. It’s not just food; it’s a daily reminder that someone cares, and that God sees their hunger.

The Medical Project offers essential medications and care to more than 30 people each month—children and elderly with chronic illnesses who otherwise would go untreated. The team prays with them, believing for healing and miracles, even when resources are scarce.

Each morning, the Breakfast Project welcomes around 20 elderly people not only with a simple meal but also with the Word of God. What began as a breakfast has grown into a home fellowship group that meets daily—no holidays, no breaks—just daily bread, both physical and spiritual.

Through the Child Sponsorship Project, more than 500 students, their families, and teachers are being supported in their education journey. This month, something new happened: a foster family welcomed children while their father began rehabilitation from alcohol addiction. The team prays for this fragile new beginning—over the children, the father, and the family that opened their home.

And through it all, Vlada is not walking alone. She is raising up new leaders, meeting with each one, passing on her experience and praying that they will go further than she ever could—that they would carry the heart of Jesus even deeper into the slums, homes, and churches of Kisumu.

“We thank everyone who supports this mission,” she says. “Your prayers, your giving—it’s all an investment into what cannot be destroyed. Into eternity.”
