Light in the Midst of the Storm: Serving Youth and Families in Ukraine
A group of Ukrainian teens from the Children of Victory project recently returned from their trip to the United States — a month-long stay with Christian families who opened their homes and hearts to children who lost a parent in the war.
Now back home in Kovel and Manevychi, the journey continues — not just geographically, but spiritually.
Together with their chaperone Vadym, the teens visited wounded Ukrainian soldiers and hospitals. It was a meeting full of warmth, tears, and deep connection. Ministry also continues in Oleksandriia, where teams are visiting families of fallen soldiers — bringing gifts for the children and boxes of hope for the mothers.
At the heart of this work is the Happy Time teen space — a place where youth who have known grief and fear are now encountering hope.
But Happy Time is more than just a program. It’s a place where God’s Word is shared, where teens feel safe enough to pray, where real friendships form, and where hearts begin to heal.
We’re witnessing something holy: God gently touching broken hearts, bringing restoration, and planting seeds of purpose and faith. This is why we serve. This is why we stay.
🙏 Many families we serve are also in extreme need — single mothers, people with disabilities, the sick and elderly. Their cries are often simple: food, hygiene items, diapers, warmth — and human kindness.
We believe every act of compassion is an act of worship. As Scripture says:
“For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat…” (Matthew 25:35)
Through this care, we long to say more than “you’re not alone.” We long to say: God sees you. He hears you. He loves you.
Amid air raid sirens, attacks, and forced military conscriptions, Happy Time still happened. It wasn’t easy.
But God made a way.
And the result? Joy. Safety. Laughter. The light of Christ shining in the eyes of children who have seen too much.
💛 We thank God for His protection. For every child who came. For every team member who served not for recognition, but for His glory.
Once again, it’s clear:
Light is stronger than darkness.
Love is stronger than fear.
Christ is our refuge.
We pray for peace. And we keep serving — with full hearts and open hands.
Thank you to everyone who makes this ministry possible. Your prayers, support, and generosity are reaching lives in ways that only eternity can measure.
