Greetings from Kisumu, Kenya!
My name is Baraka, and together with my wife, we have the honor of serving on the Mission Assistance Team and pastoring a local church in one of Kisumu’s slum communities. We remain deeply grateful to IMOC (International Ministry Of Charity) for your unwavering support — especially for helping us build our church facility, which now stands as a beacon of hope and transformation.

Today, this church is not just a building. It is a spiritual home where lives are being renewed and communities are being restored. Each week, we welcome:

  • 250–300 adults to our Sunday worship services,

  • 300 children to our kids’ ministry,

  • 250 preteens,

  • 120 teens, and

  • 150 young adults to dedicated ministries that are shaping the next generation.

Lives are being changed beyond the borders of our community — all glory to God.

School for Servants: Equipping for the Kingdom

Recently, we held a powerful three-day seminar called School for Servants. Our goal was to equip our church leaders and volunteers to better serve God and others. Through teachings on the Word of God, prayer, spiritual growth, and leadership, we saw God working deeply in every heart.

The most powerful moment came on the final day, when we shared in Holy Communion and prayed for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. God moved mightily — over 10 young people spoke in tongues for the first time, filled with joy and the presence of the Holy Spirit. It was a holy moment we will never forget.

Ministry of Compassion: Reaching the Hurting

As a pastor, I also spend time visiting members who are unable to attend church. One such brother was severely injured in a tragic car accident that took the life of his wife and left him with a broken back. In recent weeks, his pain has worsened, making it impossible to sit, stand, or walk to church.

We visited, prayed, and encouraged him — and we now ask for your prayers for his healing, and for a way to support his spinal surgery. May God open the door for his restoration.

Growing Together: Children, Women, and the Church

We thank God for our newly completed Sunday school classrooms, which now provide a space for children to study the Word of God in safety and joy. Many of these kids come to church with their parents, and now they too can learn in an environment created just for them.

We also launched our women’s ministry, creating new spaces to connect, encourage, and build relationships among the women in our church. It is our desire to minister personally and deeply to every soul God has entrusted to us.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Once again, thank you, IMOC, for the support you give to our church and to us personally as leaders. Your faithfulness empowers us to reach deeper into our community, preach the Gospel, and raise up new leaders for the Kingdom.

Together, we are changing lives — spiritually, emotionally, and physically — for the glory of God.

May God bless you abundantly for being part of this mission in Kenya.
