Ukraine 04/02/2024
Greetings, friends, Ukraine is on the line, today I want to talk about our ministry in Ukraine.
Recently, we started a new project called “Families of Fallen Heroes.” This project involves supporting widows whose husbands died in the war, which is very difficult…. I want to share some stories.
Each widow receives a “Box of Hope” – a box containing the Gospel and various items for women. These boxes were brought by our friends from Germany. Also, each box contains a card with a link, and if a woman needs psychological help, she can follow the link, where she will be contacted by a church counselor. Today, together with our friends from Germany and representatives of our city council, we visited 15 families, cried with them, prayed for them, and listened to their difficult stories.
Here are some of them….
This is Diana, 23 years old, she lost her husband back in 2023, he was 24 years old. But they buried him in a closed coffin, did two DNA tests, one matched, the other didn’t…. She still lives in hope that he is alive, she refused payments and did not arrange a funeral…. She tells her little daughter that her father is alive and will come back…..
Here’s another story. This is Victoria, she has a lovely daughter Katrusya, she buried her husband back in 2022, she was almost two years in deep depression, only now she started going out. The child was almost two years with her grandmother, she couldn’t take care of her…. She buried her husband in a closed coffin, hoping he is alive….
And this is Grandma Tetiana, raising her grandchildren, they are the children of her son who died near Bahmut, and his wife received payments and went abroad, leaving the children to the elderly grandmother, her mother-in-law…..
And this is young Oksana, she gave birth to a child and was informed at the maternity hospital that her husband died…. She lost her milk due to stress…. She says that prayer and her little daughter saved her from suicide.
Friends, it’s impossible to write and convey everything that families who buried their heroes go through…. It’s so important for them to be remembered. Thank you for supporting us in this ministry, for being with the Ukrainian people! Praise God for each of you!
