Stars in the Night of Ukraine
The last week of summer brought a mix of emotions—hope and sorrow, fear and trust. While world leaders gather to speak of peace, Ukraine continues to hear explosions, endless sirens, and the weeping of mothers at gravesides. This is the reality of our days.
The world is changing quickly. Yet One remains unchanging—our Lord. In these dark times for Ukrainians, when the night feels heavier, God reminds us that He is near every moment.
Not long ago, during a night of attacks, when drones buzzed overhead and explosions echoed, the sky was still scattered with bright stars. In that moment, the Lord whispered: “In the daytime, when the sun shines, you cannot see the stars. But in the night, they become visible.”
Tears filled my eyes. Today, Ukraine is in the dark night of suffering. Yet in this night, there are stars—those who support and pray. Through the ministry of bread, thousands across Ukraine experience not only physical nourishment but also the living Word of God.
Volunteers and chaplains distribute bread, and with each loaf comes prayer, encouragement, and the message of Christ. We may never know the exact number of lives touched, but we know it is thousands, perhaps tens of thousands. People bow their heads to receive bread—and with it, they also receive the seed of God’s Word. Seeds that will bear fruit in His time.
We hold in prayer every supporter whose love makes this possible. In the darkest night, you are the stars shining for Ukraine. And we trust that God Himself will reward you abundantly for your open hearts.
