Preteens Ministry in Kisumu: Bringing Hope to Children
Greetings from Kenya! Sending love from Mission Assistance in Kisumu, Kenya! My name is Natalia, and I’m excited to share updates from the mission field.
The work is in full swing. We are serving God, loving people, and witnessing His miracles every day. The past two weeks have been filled with meetings, ministry, and challenges, but God continues to lead us forward.
Today, I want to tell you about our Preteens Ministry—a program for children aged 8-12 years. Every week, more than 250 children attend our gatherings.
I am deeply grateful for your support and involvement. Because of you, these children not only hear about God’s love but also experience it in action. Before the service begins, they receive a hot meal or a tasty snack, which is a huge blessing. While we care for their physical needs, our main goal is to introduce them to Jesus.
Our Preteens Ministry takes place in two formats:
General Gathering – All the children come together for games, fun activities, and interactive Bible lessons.
Small Groups – We divide the children into 7-8 groups of 25, where they learn to apply God’s Word in their daily lives.
We are already seeing the fruits. One mother shared how her son, after each service, asks her to sit beside him as he retells the Bible lesson and completes his assignments. He reflects on Jesus’ teachings and puts them into practice.
This inspires us to keep going. Thank you for supporting us. Your help is not just feeding children but also filling their lives with truth and hope.
A New Home for Five Girls
Finally, it has happened. Five girls from the orphanage have moved into a new home. Four of them have already reached adulthood or will turn 18 in the coming months. Their time in the orphanage is over, but we continue to care for them as they finish school. Each girl will have a mentor to help her transition into independent life.
The relocation process was long and exhausting—preparing the house, gathering essentials. But we wanted to make this day special and unforgettable for them.
We organized a “Blessing Night”:
Reminiscing about their journey, looking at old photos—from their first school day to their first lost tooth.
Playing games—competing to put together each other’s portraits from photos.
The most touching moment—we hugged them, prayed over them, and blessed their future.
To close the evening, we sang “The Blessing”—tears filled the girls’ eyes as God’s presence touched them.
Please pray for them. May their journey be filled with God’s love, and may they always know He is guiding them.
A Major Step Forward in Foster Care
This week, we had a crucial meeting with the children’s department. Together with my assistants, we prepared documents and invitations for new leaders to train foster families and introduce alternative forms of guardianship. The first training session has already taken place.
The chief director of our city’s children’s department and even the regional director worked with us the entire day. They visited our home, met potential foster parents, and supported our mission. This is a huge step forward.
Pray that this knowledge turns into action.
Dear friends, I am sincerely grateful for your support—for your financial generosity, for your prayers, and for standing with us in this mission. This gives us strength to continue, to expand God’s Kingdom on Earth, to bring His light, share His love, and point people to Him.
Thank you so much. May God bless you abundantly.
