Faithful in the Small Things
In the quiet rhythm of everyday work, something steady and meaningful continues to grow. This past week, a missionary serving with the Assistance Mission in Kenya remained faithful in both practical responsibilities and spiritual care — holding together the life of the mission in ways that are often unseen, yet deeply important.
Throughout the week, time was spent in local markets, purchasing food for the programs that run regularly at the mission base. The rainy season made these trips more difficult, with roads and conditions adding extra strain. Still, the work continued — because each meal prepared is part of something greater: care, consistency, and dignity for those who depend on it.
At the same time, attention was given to maintaining the mission base itself. Ventilators were installed in the church, helping create a safer and more comfortable space for gatherings. A coffee machine was repaired, small but meaningful in a place where shared moments matter. Faulty sockets were replaced, ensuring that daily activities could continue without interruption. These details may seem ordinary, but they shape the environment where people come to pray, to meet, and to encounter God.
Beyond the practical work, the missionary continued serving as a home group leader — opening space for people to come together, talk honestly, and hear about Christ in a personal way. In these small groups, relationships are built, trust grows, and lives begin to change quietly, from the inside out.
This kind of service rarely stands in the spotlight, yet it carries real weight. It is in these consistent, faithful actions that the foundation of ministry is strengthened day by day.
