Children of Victory: A New Journey Begins
A new contingent of Ukrainian teenagers, part of the “Children of Victory” initiative — comprised of youngsters who lost their fathers defending Ukraine — have embarked on an extraordinary voyage to the United States today. 🇺🇸
This marks the third iteration of this significant project. Today’s group includes children from the Volyn region, specifically hailing from the city of Kovel, the town of Manevychi, and the Dubivska community, bringing them a renewed sense of optimism.
The send-off ceremony drew not only the children’s families but also prominent government figures, including:
— Ihor Chaika, Mayor of Kovel
— Roman Trotsiuk, Head of Dubivska community
— Larysa Viktorivna, Head of the Family and Children’s Services of Manevychi community
These officials offered the children heartfelt words of support, extending well wishes for their health and expressing the hope they’d have joyful moments throughout the trip. Furthermore, they voiced deep appreciation to the American hosts for their partnership, magnanimity, and genuine kindness.
Before they boarded the bus, Deacon Vadym Lobyik, also the trip’s leader, led the group in prayer. The children and their chaperones have now completed customs and are en route to Warsaw, where friendly faces eagerly await their arrival.
We extend our gratitude to all individuals who contribute to making this journey a reality for these young people – a time for healing and renewed hope.
We kindly request your prayers for them, as they still face the challenges of airports and flights. We have every confidence that this adventure will have a positive, lasting impact on their lives. 🙏
