Bread and Hope for the Forgotten Places
Another week etched into the annals of time…
For six unwavering days, the bakery’s dedicated crew toiled relentlessly – crafting loaves destined for the battle-scarred regions. These humble creations found their way to Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Poltava.
This mission thrives thanks to the unwavering support of cherished friends. 🙏
Together, we’re venturing into the most desolate corners – villages and towns where life unfolds amidst shattered buildings, where meager pensions barely suffice, where pharmacies and shops are absent… and for many, hope has withered.
Yet, into these very places, courageous volunteers and chaplains venture forth. They carry more than just sustenance; they carry the Word of God. They arrive to offer prayers, to extend comfort, and to demonstrate through their deeds that God remembers.
Each time we contemplate this – tears well up.
What a privilege to be instruments in God’s service. To be His hands in a world marred by pain.
Amidst the cacophony of explosions and alarms, within the sweltering heat of the bakery, the guiding principle persists:
We perform this work as though for the Lord.
Because we understand – that elderly women, their faces etched with the burdens of life, await. Children forced to grow up too quickly. Solitary mothers. The infirm and the aged.
These are our people. Our shared burden. Our sacred duty.
And this bread – it is more than just a simple food. It’s an embodiment of your compassion – a tangible expression of your devotion to God and your care for others.
