A Safe Place for the Next Generation
Update from missionary Sasha Syskova, serving in Kisumu, Kenya (Mission Assistance)
In the heart of Kisumu, youth ministry is more than just a weekly gathering — it’s a space where young people learn to behold Jesus deeply. Together, we worship, meditate on the Word, and grow in genuine fellowship. These past weeks, we’ve been diving into key truths: what does it mean to follow Jesus, and how do we live out faith — not just works?
Discipleship is at the core of what we do. Many youth here come from religious backgrounds, where tradition often overshadows relationship. But Jesus is calling them into something deeper. And we’re seeing it happen — through song, prayer, shared meals, and honest questions.
Alongside that, I continue helping in our medical ministry. This is Collins. We’re praying and preparing for a skin transplant to help with his condition — trusting God for full healing.
Another area I support is the financial coordination for our church. Right now, we’re building a new four-story facility that will become a youth center — a place where teens can gather, grow, and encounter Jesus. Oleg is leading the construction, and it’s already a testimony of God’s provision.
Thank you for believing in this mission. Your support means so much — not just to me, but to every young heart being discipled here in Kenya.
God bless you and your families, and your ministries too.
With love and deep gratitude.
