In Kisumu, Kenya, Sasha continues to serve full time with the Assistance Mission, walking closely with teenagers and young people whose lives are often shaped by instability, poverty, and hard choices. Yet even in that reality, there are moments when hope breaks through clearly. This season, that hope has been visible in the lives of young people who are beginning to discover both their God-given identity and the gifts they carry within them.

One of the most memorable moments was a recent talent show, inspired by a girl from Sasha’s team. What began as a simple idea became something much deeper. Many of the young people in the slums rarely have the chance to explore their abilities or express their creativity because daily survival leaves little room for that. But during the event, hidden talents came to light, and it became clear that these young lives hold far more than the world around them often allows them to show.

Alongside these joyful moments, the ministry continues to meet painful realities with patience and care. Sasha is discipling young people, helping them grow roots in their relationship with Jesus while also walking with those affected by broken family situations. Some boys have run away from home. Others have been forced out. These are not distant stories but daily needs, and the youth ministry remains a place where they can be seen, known, and guided toward Christ.

Sasha has also been meeting personally with members of the team, taking time to know them more deeply, hear their testimonies, and understand their walk with God. These conversations have opened space for honesty about fear, struggle, and spiritual growth. One encouraging step in this season has been the rise of new leaders. Sharon, one of the young leaders Sasha is investing in, is growing steadily in her faith, and a small group has now been started to prepare future home group leaders.

There have also been powerful testimonies of restoration. David has now received his prosthetic and is entering rehabilitation, which marks an important new chapter in his journey. Another young man shared how fear for his future and the pressure of money once pulled him away from God. After a period of backsliding, difficult military training in Kenya brought him face to face with his deep need for Christ. He returned with a renewed understanding of the peace and joy he had once taken for granted in Jesus and in the body of Christ. Even now, as he moves forward, he is already discipling a small group, and there is hope that God will continue to work through him.

This is how the Kingdom grows: in slums, in honest conversations, in wounded lives being restored, in young leaders being raised up, and in hearts turning back to God. Thank you to everyone who supports this ministry through IMOCE. Your generosity is helping make room for discipleship, healing, and spiritual growth among young people in Kisumu. And as this work continues, there is every reason to believe that God is still raising a generation that will burn for Him.
