Transforming Lives in Pokot: A Glimpse into the Mission Work
Greetings, dear IMOCE family!
My name is Natalia, and my family serves in Pokot as part of the Transforming Africa Foundation (TAF). I’m excited to share some of the incredible things happening on the field!
Ongoing Outreach in West Pokot County
Over the past months, we have continued organizing outreach events across various communities in West Pokot County. A series of evangelistic meetings took place in late January and February 2025, with the goal of bringing more people to Christ.
Church Planting and Growth
The construction of a new church is progressing well, and we look forward to its official launch on March 16, 2025. Additionally, the church we established in January 2025 is thriving, with more community members responding positively to the message of salvation.
Pastors’ Leadership Meeting
At the end of January, we held a strategic planning meeting with pastors to discuss the vision for 2025. It was a valuable time of encouragement, prayer, and strategizing for effective ministry. Moving forward, we aim to host such leadership meetings quarterly to assess progress in each of the seven churches we support.
Ongoing Ministry Activities
Over the past two weeks, six pastors have been actively serving the community by:
✔ Leading Sunday services and midweek Bible studies
✔ Visiting 13 homesteads to pray for families
✔ Conducting four school meetings to engage with children and share the gospel
Community Outreach at Chepangang
Our team participated in a community meeting organized by the area chief, where we had the opportunity to raise awareness about child protection and the importance of education. Community members also had a chance to interact with our TAF team, and after the session, local leaders visited our girls’ shelter to show their support. We continue to work closely with local authorities to protect vulnerable children in West Pokot County.
Supporting Girls at St. Elizabeth Rescue Center
Our team visited 43 girls who had been rescued from child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM). During our visit, we provided them with hygiene kits, encouraged them, and shared Christ’s love with them.
We are incredibly grateful to IMOC for your continued support, which enables pastors and mission workers to carry out this life-changing work. May God bless you abundantly!
