Updates from Kenya – Mission Progress and Future Plans

Greetings from Kenya!
Hello, dear friends! Sending warm regards straight from the equator, where we are serving with the Sodeystvie Mission. Despite the rainy season, the region remains incredibly dry. Someone recently compared it to autumn, but for us, it feels more like a “busy season” filled with many plans and activities.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the past two weeks and share what lies ahead.

Preparing for the Christmas Play
Over the last two weeks, I worked on writing a script for our Christmas play. While I’m not a professional playwright, by God’s grace, the script is ready, and rehearsals have already begun!

Twice or thrice a week, we meet for 1-2 hours. Teens from various ministries, including the choir, dance team, and art class, participate. The play aims to transport the audience to biblical times, highlighting the prophets’ anticipation of the Savior, and the emotions of Mary, Joseph, and other central figures.

We plan to present the play in church, during a youth service, and during our Christmas outreach events. Rehearsals are ongoing to ensure everything is top-notch!

Academic Milestones
Over the past weeks, I also supported our sixth graders as they prepared for their important exams. Thankfully, all students successfully completed their tests, and we’re now eagerly awaiting results.

After reviewing their performance, I gathered the children to emphasize the importance of learning and setting meaningful goals. I reminded them of the ultimate foundation for all endeavors: Christ. We also celebrated their hard work by rewarding the top three students and recognizing four others who showed remarkable improvement.

Additionally, I met with teachers to discuss individual student progress and areas for improvement. Together, we planned a study schedule for the holiday break.

Pre-Teen Ministry and Holiday Outreach
Every Wednesday, we host pre-teen ministry sessions, where each child enjoys a tasty snack. Since it’s now the school holidays, attendance has soared from the usual 230-250 children to over 300! With Salo’s help, we successfully organized and led this week’s program.

Evangelizing Through Happy Time
We’re also thrilled to continue our Happy Time evangelism efforts. This week, I focused on preparations, including budgeting, leader meetings, and planning. We aim to welcome 600-650 children for this program.

Thank you all for your continued support, prayers, and encouragement. Your partnership allows us to serve and spread Christ’s love to so many. May the Lord bless you abundantly!
