Supporting missionaries in Kenya 09/18/2024
Greetings and Blessings to All!
My name is Andrii, and I am serving in Kisumu with the Assistance Mission. My primary role is managing purchases for the mission’s various projects, which has proven to be more challenging than it sounds. Some supplies I buy from wholesalers, while others are sourced from local markets. In Kenya, it’s important to remember that being “white” comes with its challenges. As soon as locals see the color of my skin, they raise prices by 5, 10, or even 15 times higher than they would for a local. Negotiation skills and a deep understanding of life in Kenya are essential to ensure fair prices.
In addition to procurement, I’ve been involved in media work, photographing different ministries, including Sunday services, children’s programs, and conferences. I also try to find time for construction and repair work at the churches and mission base.
Friends, I am incredibly grateful for your financial and prayer support! We are able to continue our work here thanks to your open hearts. Together, we bring the Word of God into the hearts of the people. May God richly bless you all!
