Greetings from the Mission in Kenya, Africa!

Hello friends, my name is Natasha. For more than seven years, I have been serving here at this mission. My main areas of service include the children’s home, preteens ministry, and managing our mission’s Instagram page.

I’d like to share a bit about the past two weeks at the mission.

At the end of the month, I communicated with the sponsors, reminding them of the birthdays of the children they support. Thanks to God’s provision and your partnership, I was able to buy and give gifts to these children. We were also blessed with new books.

Recently, two boys joined our shelter. Their father has a complicated story; he struggles with alcohol addiction and currently has no place to stay. The boys were left outside with just a mattress to sleep on. Their mother left over a year ago to visit relatives and never returned. These boys are wonderful and deeply crave love. For now, they are staying at our shelter, but a kind woman from the church is willing to become a mother to them.

Together with our volunteer, William, we worked on preparing stories about the children. This task requires a lot of time and resources, but I am happy to say that all 30 stories are now ready.

I visited one of the schools where our children study to address some concerns and discuss ways they could improve the quality of education. We also talked about future collaboration for evangelism at the school.

As I’ve mentioned before, every Saturday, we have meetings with the preteens ministry team. We discuss plans, assign tasks, and spend time together in Bible study and prayer. Before the service, we always make sure to feed the children. We are so grateful that our kids have the opportunity to eat.

These past two weeks, we have been learning lessons from the book of Jonah. I even prepared a presentation for our service. During one moment, we paused the service and invited the children to the altar for a time of worship. We prayed that God would touch their hearts and allow them to feel His presence.

Afterwards, we continued discussing the book of Jonah in small groups, giving the children a chance to share their thoughts and ask questions.

Some of these children wait for 2-3 hours just for a meal. In one instance, some children stood by the gate, asking for food. They were so hungry that they even asked for the leftovers from the cooking pots. When I asked if anyone was looking for them, as it was already dark outside, they replied that no one was. With torn clothes and big eyes, they asked for food again and promised to be quiet. By God’s grace, we had some rice and bean stew left, so we gave them extra portions.

I am deeply thankful for your financial support that allows us to feed the hungry! I was also able to help with translation into English. Thank you so much for your ongoing support! Together, we are doing God’s work!
