Supporting missionaries in Kenya 08/29/2024
Hello everyone from sunny Kenya!
My name is Natasha, and I serve in the Assistance Mission, where my primary ministries include the orphanage, preteens ministry, and media (Instagram). First and foremost, I want to extend a huge thank you to IMOCE for your support of our orphanage. Together, we not only clothe the children but also provide them with essential items. With your financial help, we were able to purchase 40 sets of bedding, 10 large blankets, and 26 pillows. This has been a tremendous blessing—thank you!
The children ran to the car with smiles from ear to ear. I’m often not very active on social media, and I don’t have many photos because I’m usually behind the scenes. Here, you can see a bit of me as I found an idea for a video for our mission’s page and began shooting. This work takes quite a bit of time, especially the editing.
Yesterday, we also had the opening of a new session for the “Year for God” project. Praise God, I was able to serve there as well. Every Wednesday, we hold our preteens ministry. I’m so glad that we can bring Jesus Christ to children of this age. Here, I’m preparing a presentation for the ministry. And here we are, together with the team that works with me in the preteens ministry, preparing games and testing whether they’ll be engaging.
During these meetings, we also share testimonies that the children have told us, and we discuss what messages we want to convey to them. The children were on vacation, and on Monday, they returned to school. The last two days, we’ve been doing inventory and making purchases for the new month.
We also had a meeting with a father whose wife had left him. He left the children on the street. We met with him to get his signature on a request allowing the children to live with a family from our church, and our orphanage will support that family. It’s clear that the man has a drinking problem and lacks documents, as do the children. We will do everything in our power to help these boys.
During the holidays, I also spent a lot of time with the children from the shelter. They shared their dreams, and thanks to the support of our partners, we were able to make some of those dreams come true. I am so grateful for your support, and that together, we can continue to spread the Kingdom of God.
