Supporting missionaries in Kenya 08/22/2024
Hello, dear friends from Kenya and “Mission of Assistance.”
My name is Inna Merzla, and I want to share with you how our recent meeting with the parents and children from the “Child Sponsorship” project went. Some of the children do not have birth certificates, which is essential for them to take exams in school. We discussed with the mothers how important it is to obtain this document. We also explained the rules of our project to them.
Recently, I was at the hospital with my friend who needed an emergency operation. I stayed with her, taking care of her during this challenging time. It was emotionally and physically exhausting, but we are now back home, and my friend is feeling much better. I am thankful to God for her recovery!
I absolutely love visiting families in our Dunga Beach neighborhood, bringing them gifts like clothes, shoes, and food. Kenyans are generally not very expressive, but after receiving these gifts, smiles appear on their faces. It’s heartwarming to see that we can make these people a little happier. I truly feel that Jesus Himself is caring for them through us.
We also had a meeting at our “New Life” church with high school students and participants in our program. We discussed the challenges that cause students to drop out of school early, often to work or spend time with friends, and the crucial role that parent-child relationships play. We also talked about how the church can support the youth during these times.
This is Rhoda, a girl we are helping with medication due to her illness. Her mother is raising five children on her own. Rhoda lives in a simple home where she sleeps on the floor because there aren’t enough beds for everyone. The family regularly attends our church.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the IMOCE team for your ongoing support and financial assistance. Together, we can continue to serve and help these people! I pray for you and bless you in the name of Jesus Christ!
