Spreading Hope and Transforming Lives in Kisumu, Kenya
Greetings, everyone!
My name is Baraka, and together with my family, we serve as pastors of New Life Church, Mission Assistance in Kisumu, Kenya. I want to take a moment to share what our church and ministry have been engaged in over the past few weeks.
First, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and our church here in Kenya. A special thanks to IMOC and Bro. Anatoliy for your unwavering love and support. Because of your partnership, we are able to preach the Gospel and bring transformation to our community.
Impacting Lives Through the Church
Through various church projects, we have been able to transform lives not only physically but also spiritually. Many in our community have turned away from destructive lifestyles, and we continue to witness God’s power at work. Among those now part of the church are:
✅ Former drunkards and drug addicts
✅ Individuals who practiced witchcraft
✅ People formerly involved in crime
A cumulative total of 800-1,000 people are served each week through our ministry and outreach programs!
Ministries in Action
⭐ Children’s Ministry – We had an exciting program for the kids last week, and at the end, each child received a small gift to take home.
⭐ Teens Ministry – Boys and girls had separate sessions of praise, worship, and the Word, followed by a well-deserved gift for each participant.
⭐ Church Visits & Encouragement – This week, I visited several church members in their homes to pray and encourage them. Three of them are survivors of last year’s floods—our church helped relocate them to safer housing, hoping they can return home when conditions improve.
⭐ Feeding Program – Right now, we provide hot meals to 140 vulnerable individuals, including orphans, single parents, and elderly grandmothers and grandfathers who have nowhere else to turn. IMOC’s support has made this possible, and we are so grateful!
⭐ Leadership Development – This week, I met one-on-one with ministry leaders to discuss their personal spiritual growth, the challenges they face, and how we can better disciple others.
Strengthening Families & Communities
Last Friday, we had a powerful Church Prayer Meeting, seeking God’s guidance and strength.
This past Saturday, we held a Men’s Fellowship—an important time for teaching men how to be present, responsible fathers in their children’s lives. Many children in our community grow up without fatherly guidance, and this has serious consequences. By meeting monthly, we encourage men to take up their God-given role in the family.
We also prayed over one of our youth, who was recently accepted into the National Youth Service program in Nairobi. We asked for wisdom and grace as he embarks on this new journey.
A Place to Worship
Finally, we are overjoyed to announce that our church building is now complete! 🎉 This beautiful space will allow us to serve even more people and provide a place of hope, restoration, and transformation.
🙏 Thank you again to everyone who supports us! Your generosity, love, and prayers are changing lives. May God bless you abundantly!
With gratitude,
Pastor Baraka & New Life Church, Kisumu
