Ministry in Victoria and Kanyuda Schools
This year, Victoria School successfully began its academic year. Nearly all students returned to classes, except for two children who tragically passed away during the holidays.
We are pleased to share that 113 new students have joined the school, bringing the total number of children to over 400. However, we are facing significant challenges due to a shortage of classroom spaces. Construction of new classrooms is progressing slowly because most of the funds are directed toward providing meals for students and covering daily school activities.
With the increase in student enrollment, we have hired two new teachers. At the same time, one of our teachers has fallen ill and is currently unable to return to work. We kindly ask for your prayers for her recovery.
Kanyuda School also began its academic year, welcoming over 60 students. During a community meeting, the local community generously allocated land for the school free of charge. However, classes are currently held in a church building as we do not yet have school facilities of our own.
To support the learning process, we hired two teachers, a caretaker, and a cook. Additionally, four women from the community walk 17 kilometers daily to bring water needed for cooking meals for the children. Water is a precious resource here, and its scarcity impacts school attendance. Many students must assist their parents in transporting water and often return home too late to attend classes in full.
Accessing the school remains a challenge as it is located far from other centers, making it difficult to provide medical assistance when needed.
We deeply appreciate the support of our sponsors. Thanks to your contributions, we can continue this ministry, providing children with meals, education, and a brighter future. Your help makes a tremendous difference in the lives of these children and the development of the communities we serve.
May God bless you abundantly for your kindness and generosity!
