Hope Restored in Pokot
After months of illness and recovery in Ukraine, missionary Natalia Onguko has finally returned to Kenya, where she serves together with her husband, Pastor David, and their three sons among the Pokot people. Her journey through several surgeries was marked by pain and uncertainty, yet also by God’s unmistakable presence and healing. Today, reunited with her family and church community, Natalia is deeply grateful for the prayers and support that carried her through this season.
While Natalia was away, ministry in Pokot did not stop. With the financial support of those who give through IMOCE, four dedicated local pastors continued daily service at the seven Life Centers. These centers have become safe places where children gather weekly for play, Bible teaching, and encouragement.
In July alone, pastors conducted 36 home visits, praying with families, listening to their struggles, and standing with them in faith. Sunday services continued as well, drawing many to hear the message of the gospel and to grow together in Christ.
A central focus of the ministry remains the campaign against harmful practices such as female genital mutilation, child marriage, and neglect—issues that often rise during the August holiday season. By speaking truth, raising awareness, and offering hope, the team is helping families choose life and dignity for their daughters.
The Life Centers also served as places of fellowship and support through small groups, where members could connect on a deeper level. Over 300 people benefited from feeding programs that relieved the pressure of hunger, especially in vulnerable households. Families were strengthened further through a special marriage seminar, reminding couples of the beauty of covenant and unity in Christ.
Pastor Bonface, serving faithfully at the Girls Rescue Center, continued daily devotions and music training with the girls, building their confidence and joy in the Lord. In Orwa church, the Jesus film was shown twice, drawing many children to gather and encounter the story of Christ in a powerful way.
Each of these efforts reflects a simple but profound truth: even in seasons of hardship, God is at work. He sustains His servants, He renews families, and He brings hope to entire communities.
We thank every person whose prayers and gifts make this ministry possible. Through your support, lives are being touched, families strengthened, and children given the chance to grow in faith and freedom. Please continue to stand with Natalia, Pastor David, their family, and the pastors in Pokot as they carry God’s light into some of the most unreached areas of Kenya.
