Hope in the Streets of Kisumu
In the heart of Kisumu’s slums, life is often marked by poverty and struggle. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, God’s light continues to shine. Missionary Katya, serving with the Assistance Mission in Kenya, witnesses every day how people not only face their needs but also discover the greatest treasure—Jesus Christ.
“It is a joy to see people being saved, to see their thinking change, and their lives transformed. Glory to God!” — Katya
One of the stories she recently shared is about Caroline, a woman who has been living with a painful leg wound and swelling for over a year. Last week, she came to church for the first time. Katya believes this is only the beginning of change in her life.
The mission also faces challenges with children who sometimes want to quit school early to earn money and help their families survive. In these fragile moments, missionaries step in with wisdom and love, reminding them of the importance of education—at least the basics—and encouraging them not to give up.
Alongside this, Katya continues her responsibility in the mission’s financial ministry: carefully distributing funds for daily projects and keeping records so that every act of service can continue.
With deep gratitude, Katya thanks everyone who supports missionaries through IMOCE. It is through this faithful support that hope reaches Kisumu’s streets, one life at a time.
