“Hope” Center Brought Joy to Children on Their Special Day
At the Hope Children’s Center, the International Day for Protection of Children was more than just a calendar marker; it was a testament to life, strength, and collective happiness. The gathering, themed “The Country of Kindness,” prioritized the well-being of those often marginalized: children orphaned, children with impairments, and children uprooted by conflict and occupation.
The day resonated with laughter, creativity, and compassion. Through the collaborative work of the center’s psychologists, social workers, aides, and loyal supporters from the local “Vidrodzhennia” church — Tetiana Panasiuk, Tetiana Hlushko, Sofiia Koziupa, and Vitalina Dats — the children enjoyed experiences they will carry with them.
They engaged in outdoor games, participated in team contests, found respite in comfortable tents stocked with toys, and expressed their imagination through art. There were zones for Bible-based narratives, a quiz centered on Jesus’ parables, delicious refreshments, plenty of mirth, and the type of kindness that endures far after the event concludes.
For nearly twenty years, the Hope Center has devoted itself to safeguarding and aiding children in times of crisis. A significant number of those served are living without parental care, or have had to flee their homes due to war. Some are navigating physical or emotional hurdles. But within these walls, they are recognized, valued, and surrounded by affection.
During that week, the children’s days were just as packed: they harvested fresh strawberries, baked pancakes, prepared vinaigrette, depicted flowers and oceans, enjoyed sensory-based games, and even visited the nearby art gallery to explore the works of Ukrainian artists. They crafted paper artworks, molded salt dough, tested the role of a journalist, and embarked on nature walks to observe the evolving world around them.
Every day unfolds with fresh ideas, renewed laughter, and new learnings. Talents are flourishing. Skills are developing. And amid the backdrop of war, a different narrative is being written – one of recovery and advancement.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to IMOCE for its backing and collaboration in the mission of saving children.
Due to your dedication, these young lives are encountering something invaluable: a childhood abundant in safety, purpose, and joy — even amidst the sorrow.
May each of you receive abundant blessings. May serenity prevail in your households, and may your hearts be uplifted by the smiles you help generate.
