Growing in Faith Together in Kisumu
Hello from Kisumu, Kenya!
My name is Sasha, and I serve full-time with Mission Assistance. I’m also part of our Bible school “Year for God”, where young people are being equipped to serve Christ and impact their communities across Kenya.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had some truly special moments. Together with our students, we went on a prayer walk through our community, sharing the Gospel with local fishermen—many of whom struggle with alcoholism and rarely attend church. It was powerful to see hearts touched as we prayed and spoke with them.
We also had a joyful day when I took the Year for God students to a zoo on a free-entry day. For many of them, it was the first time visiting such a place, and seeing their excitement was priceless.
Our classes continue three times a week, and I’m amazed at how much these young people are growing. I believe God has an incredible plan for each of them—to bring change and hope to people across different tribes of Kenya.
Recently, I also helped lead a worship and prayer night for our youth. It was a deeply moving evening focused on freedom—freedom from trauma and strongholds that have held many back. We saw God move in unexpected ways: several young people who had stopped attending church came that night, and many shared testimonies of transformation. It was truly a powerful time.
Discipleship is another part of my ministry. We recently visited one of our boys at his home and met his aunt. She stayed through most of our discipleship time, listening and engaging. Encounters like this remind me how God works not only in individuals but through families and communities.
I also serve in church administration, overseeing finances and helping with the construction of our new church building. Temporarily, I’m also managing finances for one of our missionaries who is away on vacation. And just recently, I was part of a three-day women’s conference, which turned out to be an amazing time of encouragement and fellowship.
I’m deeply thankful to everyone who supports and believes in what we do.
Your generosity and prayers make it possible for us to serve God full-time and to witness His miracles in the lives of others.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sasha – Mission Assistance, Kisumu, Kenya
