Bread in the Midst of War
Half of February has already passed. And this month, true to its name, has been harsh in every sense.
In Ukraine, February has stretched into nearly four years of war. Sirens, explosions, power outages, freezing apartments, sleepless nights — this has become daily reality for millions. Yet even in these conditions, the work continues.
The bread ministry team in Ukraine keeps baking around the clock. Despite air raids and cold workshops, ovens are not silent. Churches open their doors so people can warm themselves, charge their phones, drink hot tea, and receive a fresh loaf of bread. For many, this bread is more than food — it is a reminder that they are not forgotten.
Through this ministry, people receive both physical and spiritual nourishment. While hands pass warm bread, the Word of God is shared. Conversations begin. Tears are seen. Prayers are whispered quietly in corners where light has only just returned after another blackout.
This work continues thanks to those who choose to stand with Ukraine in faith and compassion. The team expresses heartfelt gratitude to Anatoliy Kolomiyets, to IMOCE, and to everyone who labors together in this mission. Because of your support, ovens stay lit, and hope continues to rise — even in the coldest days of war.
Thank you to all who continue to support this ministry. Your faithfulness carries warmth into places where winter feels endless.
