At the Edge of Hope: Vlada Sydorchuk’s Ministry in Kenya (Assistance Mission)
In a remote part of Kenya, where daily struggles often go unseen by the world, missionary Vlada Sydorchuk continues to serve faithfully through the Assistance Mission—supported by generous hearts from many nations through IMOCE.
“Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,” Vlada writes,
“My name is Vlada Sydorchuk, and I am so thankful that for several years now, you’ve been helping me serve here in Africa. Together, we raise up local leaders, send children to school, care for the sick, feed the hungry, read Scripture aloud to the elderly, and even help families by providing beds.”
The ministry is both practical and deeply personal.
Each morning, the church opens its doors for a prayer breakfast, offering warm food and warm presence to elderly people in need.
“It’s amazing how much a single plate of food can change,” Vlada shares. “Our elderly friends now have fuller cheeks, brighter eyes, and smiles that weren’t there before.”
Through the Child Sponsorship Project, Vlada recently met with a group of young women to talk about a heavy but urgent topic: sexual abuse within families. Some of the girls wrote anonymous notes, quietly asking for help.
“There’s so much still to be done,” Vlada says. “But we praise God—because even in the darkest stories, His light can begin to shine.”
Each month, the team tries to install up to three beds in homes where people sleep on the floor. For many, it’s their first bed ever.
“We rejoice every time we can do this,” Vlada writes. “And it’s only possible thanks to people from churches all over the world who care enough to give. Thank you—for your prayers, your giving, and your heart for missions.”
Through your support of IMOCE, this ministry continues.
Not just with words, but with presence. Not just with plans, but with love.
Thank you for being part of this story—standing with those who live at the edge of hope.
