A Quiet Strength Behind the Work in Kisumu
The heart of ministry in Kenya is often seen in children’s programs, church gatherings, or Sunday worship. Yet, much of the work stands on the quiet faithfulness of those who keep the mission base running day after day. One of them is Jacob, a local minister serving with the Assistance Mission in Kisumu.
He spends his days repairing doors, fixing sockets, checking the wiring, making sure every room is safe and ready for the children and teams who come to serve. His hands carry the weight of daily responsibility: maintaining the base, solving unexpected problems, keeping the buildings in good condition. These tasks rarely appear in reports, but without them the ministry could not stand.
Twice a week he walks through the markets of Kisumu, choosing the essentials that keep the mission’s work moving forward — food supplies, materials, tools, whatever is needed. Missionaries often say that they feel supported because he is there, steady and willing to learn more so he can serve better. It is his way of honouring God: through diligence, care, and a quiet heart.
The support of those who give through IMOCE makes it possible for local ministers like Jacob to provide this foundation. Their families feel the stability, their communities feel the impact, and the mission in Kisumu grows stronger through everyday faithfulness.
We are grateful to everyone who continues to support the ministry in Kenya. Your generosity strengthens local workers, brings hope to families, and allows the Gospel to be lived out not only in words, but in the simple, steady acts of service that carry God’s presence into daily life.
