Bread in the Midst of War: A Week of Steadfast Hope
Another week has passed into eternity, and with it — 11,080 loaves of bread baked for people living through the harsh reality of war. In these numbers, there are stories, faces, and quiet prayers whispered in broken villages across Ukraine.
This ministry continues only because people choose to stand with us. Thanks to everyone who supports the work of bread distribution through IMOCE, thousands of families receive not only physical food, but a reminder that God has not forgotten them — even when explosions shake the night and fear lingers in the air.
Our team prepares the weekly distribution plan based on requests from chaplains, volunteers, and local servants who bring two kinds of bread to people: the one that nourishes the body and the one that speaks to the soul. Every week brings unexpected needs — urgent trips to the east, last-minute evacuations, communities suddenly cut off by shelling. Whenever possible, we increase production so no one is left without help.
Most of the bread is sent through Nova Poshta using our free bonus points and the promo codes shared by those who receive the bread. The rest is picked up directly by chaplains and volunteers — many of whom travel long distances under constant threat from drones and rockets. About 90% of these loaves are delivered by believers who share Scripture and prayer as they go.
The bakery works around the clock, stopping only once a week from Saturday night to Sunday, and once a month for a deep cleaning day. Even then, we bake extra at night so every volunteer can collect bread on time. Daily cleaning between shifts is constant — the work never truly pauses.
Thousands of loaves leave the bakery each day for Donetsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Dnipro regions. Every location has its day, its route, and its waiting hands.
And still, the greatest miracle is not the number of loaves — it is that flour, oil, yeast, sugar, and salt never run out. In a time when supply chains are broken and needs are overwhelming, God continues to provide through people who choose to give. Those who support this ministry have become His hands in Ukraine.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who stands with us, to every sponsor who makes this service possible, and to the IMOCE family for walking through this season with faith and quiet strength.
