Warm greetings from the equator 🌍☀️.
For the past eight years, missionary Natalia has been serving with the Assistance Mission in Kenya, where her main focus is the Daddy’s Home shelter—now transforming into family-style homes.

The last two weeks have been both challenging and deeply meaningful. One of the most difficult encounters was with the aunt of a boy who once lived at the shelter. The woman often falls ill and spends much of the day away from home, leaving the child, about 8 or 9 years old, alone. He has no documents, and Natalia is now helping to resolve this.

The aunt faces many hardships: she has no children of her own, no education, and no relationship with God. The team prays with her, mentors her, and recently blessed her with a new phone so they can stay in touch. Her home is damp and may have caused her persistent lung illness. Another house has been found for her, and plans are underway to move her. They also dream of helping her start a small business at home — perhaps selling food from a small table outside her house.

Amid the difficulties, there were also joyful moments. Birthdays were celebrated for children in late August and early September. Even at sixteen, a child’s face lights up with delight over a pair of sports shoes, as if it were the newest iPhone. Simple things — a cake and a soda — become a festival of love.

Every week, one to three families come for food packages. While it may seem simple to hand out groceries, it involves careful planning: budgeting, ordering, dividing, waiting for delivery, and assembling packages. Then comes the most important part — sitting down with the families, listening to their stories, praying, and rejoicing in their small victories. These moments of connection mean just as much as the food itself.

In recent weeks, Natalia also led youth gatherings on the theme of healing. She shared a message God gave her while she was in the hospital, and the Holy Spirit touched many hearts. Teens were invited to bring their pain, sickness, and struggles to the cross, reminded that Jesus already carried it all at Calvary. The sight of children stepping forward, entrusting their burdens to Him, was powerful. Afterwards, everyone shared a celebratory meal: ugali (cornmeal porridge), sukuma (greens), and a small fish — a true feast that filled the children with joy.

The time ended with group sharing, where teens opened up about what they had learned, gave testimonies, and asked questions. It was a space of honesty, hope, and support.

Natalia shares:

“We remind the children constantly — this is not from us, but from Jesus, and from people who pray and support. Although we love them deeply and serve with love, everything we give flows from Him.”

Thanks to the prayers and financial support of many, Natalia and the team can continue to serve not only spiritually but also in practical ways. Each act of care becomes a testimony of God’s Kingdom growing in Kenya.

🙏 Thank you for your prayers, for walking this extra mile, and for supporting the children and families here. May the Lord richly bless you.
