Warm greetings from Kisumu, Kenya!

For the past eight years, missionary Natalia has been serving with Mission Assistance near Lake Victoria. Her heart is deeply invested in children and families, and through her ministry, lives are being changed both spiritually and physically.

Every week, between 200 and 300 children from the surrounding neighborhoods gather for special services. These meetings, held alternately on Wednesdays and Saturdays, focus on introducing the children to Jesus Christ through the stories of the New Testament—His miracles, His compassion, His love. Alongside the teaching, the children also receive snacks and hot meals, which for many are rare treasures. Some of them come hungry after several days without food, and here they are embraced, nourished, and reminded that God sees and cares for them.

But the ministry does not stop there. Over the years, what began as a children’s home has grown into a family-based model of care. Today, eight foster families are raising children—each home filled with warmth, laughter, and the everyday lessons of growing up in love and stability.

This summer break began with a joyful camp for the children, foster parents, and mentors. Days were filled with games, shared meals, and time to strengthen family bonds. One of the most touching moments was seeing mothers playing and laughing with their children, showing them affection that heals deep wounds. Natalia also had the opportunity to sit with the parents and mentors, talking about spiritual growth, healthy communication, and practical challenges of raising children at different stages of life. At the close of the camp, each foster mother received a traditional Kenyan dress—a gesture of honor and encouragement.

The ministry also continues weekly through mentorship gatherings. Two to three families come together for encouragement, prayer, and teaching. At the end of each meeting, they receive food packages large enough to help sustain their households, where many children are growing together. Home visits also provide a chance to walk alongside families in their joys and struggles, whether celebrating milestones or rushing a child to medical care after a football accident.

Behind the scenes, Natalia’s work also includes documentation and cooperation with Kenya’s child welfare department—efforts that ensure the ministry is sustainable, safe, and transparent.

This is a living testimony that God is building families out of brokenness, restoring dignity, and raising children in an atmosphere of faith and hope. None of this would be possible without the faithful prayers and financial support of those who give.

Thank you to everyone who makes this ministry a reality. Each meal, each smile, each open Bible is a seed of hope planted in the lives of children in Kisumu. Together, we trust God for even greater things ahead.
