Serving with Hope in Eastern Ukraine
Greetings, dear friends! Ukraine is on the line! 🇺🇦
We would like to share with you what God is doing through the ministry in eastern Ukraine. In the city of Sloviansk, our missionary and pastor, Yurii Cherevatenko, continues to serve the people who remain there despite the growing danger.
Although the situation in the region has become very difficult and tense, life continues. There are still many people living in the city who need support, care, prayer, and the Word of God. Every day, they receive help, encouragement, and hope for a peaceful future.
The situation is becoming more serious. The enemy is moving closer, and the number of villages and settlements that can still be reached is decreasing. FPV drones are already flying over Sloviansk. Anti-drone nets are being installed in the city, and all of this deeply affects people’s emotional state, increasing anxiety and fear.
More and more soldiers are coming to the church. Yet, despite all the challenges, we continue to find opportunities and strength to serve.
During the recent period, 15 settlements were visited, about 900 people were reached, and 1,600 loaves of bread were distributed. In some villages, it was difficult to gather people together, so in the evenings we went from house to house. Many people are afraid to walk through the streets, but they receive help and support with deep gratitude.
The church continues to serve and preach the Word of God. A special joy for us was that three people decided to make a covenant with the Lord and received water baptism. This is another confirmation that God continues to save people and add those who are being saved to His Church.
We also speak with people about evacuation. We tell them that if they are afraid, it is better to leave now, because later they may be able to return. Many elderly people remain in the area. Some have nowhere to go, and others simply do not have the ability to leave on their own. That is why we are looking for housing and safe places for them.
We are forming them into groups, because many are afraid to travel alone. We are reaching out to churches and asking who can receive these people, so they will be under care and supervision. Only under such conditions do many people agree to evacuate. We continue to work actively in this direction.
The atmosphere is heavy: daily shelling, drones, explosions, and alarming news all come together and weigh on people’s hearts. But despite everything, we continue to believe that God is faithful, and we will not be defeated.
Thank you for supporting our hands in this ministry. We continue to do good together. 🙏🇺🇦
We sincerely thank everyone who supports this work through prayers and acts of kindness. Together, we are bringing light even in the darkest times.
May the Lord bless Ukraine!
