A Place Where Hope Grows: Ministry Updates from IMOCE in Ukraine
Ukraine continues to stand — wounded by war, yet alive in Christ. In these challenging days, the IMOCE team remains present in communities that need care, stability, and the light of God’s Word. This month, the ministry teams in Odesa, Balta, Kovel, and the Kirovohrad region share how God is touching hearts through simple, faithful service.
In the city of Balta, the local spiritual development center has become a place where children find warmth, guidance, and purpose. They attend various clubs, learn biblical truths, and receive pastoral support that helps them grow emotionally and spiritually. One of the highlights is the “Master Chef” culinary club — a space where children develop practical skills, learn teamwork, discover creativity, and recognize the gifts God has placed in them. Each meeting becomes a small step toward confidence and hope.
Another important program is the “Interactive Space” club, now attended by 35 children. Recently, the team led a session called “I’m a Designer. This Is How I See It.” Through this theme, the children explored the idea that Jesus Christ is the ultimate Designer — the One who shapes life with wisdom and purpose. Conversations opened new perspectives and helped the young participants understand that when Christ is at the center, even fragmented pieces of life come together in harmony.
The IMOCE Odesa team also travels to nearby villages to meet with teenagers. At one gathering, 12 teens explored the meaning of God’s names and how He reveals His character through them. The discussion, group activities, and a powerful personal testimony from a mentor created a gentle, trusting atmosphere. At the end, each teen received a symbolic “package from God” — a snack, tea, and a short letter meant to encourage them on difficult days.
Ministry continues as well in Kovel, where deacon Vadym Labyk faithfully serves teenagers from the Children of Victory project. His meetings offer what many of these young people miss the most: attention, stability, and hope. The latest gathering took place in a pottery workshop, where the teenagers could feel how a formless lump of clay becomes something beautiful under the hands of a master. It became a living reminder of how God gently shapes every life, bringing out strength and beauty even in fragile moments.
In the Kirovohrad region, the “Happy Time” teen space continues to provide a warm and safe environment for youth. Here they are welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow — to build healthy relationships, develop their talents, and discover God’s care in their daily lives.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supports ministry to children and teenagers in Ukraine. Your generosity sustains places where young hearts can heal, learn, and find hope again. Thank you for standing with them in this season.
