Ukraine Stands in Faith: A Week of Trials, Meetings, and Children’s Testimonies
This Saturday morning in Ukraine began with difficult news once again. Strikes hit a thermal power plant and one of the largest power stations. Where electricity used to be available on a two-hours-on, two-hours-off schedule, it is now only one hour with power followed by five hours without. With freezing temperatures outside, these conditions are especially challenging. In the midst of this, we continue to pray and place our hope in the Lord.
At the same time, the past week was full and deeply meaningful. Anatoliy Petrovych Kolomiyets arrived in Ukraine, and several important meetings took place. We met with the mayors and representatives of the city of Kovel, Dubivska community, and the town of Manevychi. These meetings with local authorities were warm and open. We discussed the Children of Victory project, expressed gratitude for their cooperation, spoke about Christ, and shared testimony about the Ukrainian Christian diaspora in the United States. Each meeting concluded with prayer.
The most significant moment of the week was the meeting with the children from the Children of Victory project. The children remembered different moments of their journey, shared stories about their host families, and spoke through tears of joy about how the trip to the United States changed them. We heard many testimonies from children whose lives were touched and transformed by this experience.
We are deeply thankful to everyone who took part in making this project possible. May the Lord bless each of you who stood with these children and supported this important work.
