This report comes from Kisumu, Kenya, where missionary Natalia continues her service with the Assistance Mission. The past season has been marked by consistent, hands-on ministry among foster families, children, and ministry teams—work rooted in daily presence, responsibility, and shared faith.

A significant part of this period focused on supporting foster families. The team held numerous meetings, addressed practical needs, distributed food packages, and visited families in their homes. These visits were not limited to material support; personal conversations and ongoing relationships remained central to the ministry.

An important milestone was the start of the new school year. All children supported by the ministry were successfully enrolled. While some students continued in their existing schools, others transitioned to new institutions after completing previous levels. The most demanding step was placing students into senior boarding schools located one to two hours from Kisumu. By God’s grace, the final student was taken to school, completing this process. The children are now studying in good schools and have demonstrated strong academic results.

During this time, a special Christmas gathering was held with foster parents, mentors, and the team from Daddy’s Home. The meeting became a space to reflect on the past year, speak openly about challenges, and share hopes for the year ahead. Christmas celebrations for the children followed, including a festive meal and the observance of Boxing Day—a meaningful tradition in Kenya when children open their gifts. Through the support of sponsors and partners, every child received a personal gift, and the day was filled with joy and reassurance that they are remembered and valued.

After an intense season of preparation and ongoing work with the preteens’ ministry, special attention was given to the ministry team itself. A separate Christmas celebration was organized for the leaders who serve these children throughout the year. The team shared a meal, exchanged small gifts, played games, and spent unhurried time together. For many, this was a rare and deeply meaningful moment of rest, recognition, and shared joy.

Following a short break, the preteens’ ministry has now resumed. Regular gatherings bring together around 250 children, and at times close to 300. The team witnesses steady spiritual growth as the children learn to know God, read the Bible, pray, and respond to His calling in their lives. A particularly meaningful moment came last Sunday, when seven older preteens were baptized in water. Their decision reflected a sincere and conscious faith in Jesus Christ, confirmed by their active participation in prayer meetings, discipleship groups, and church life.

This ministry continues through the faithful support of those who stand alongside it. Financial partnership, prayer, and trust make it possible to serve children, families, and leaders consistently and responsibly. The fruit of this service is visible in transformed lives, growing faith, and strengthened communities.
