Support for Girls’ Shelters, Education,
and Local Churches
Transforming Africa Foundation (TAF) works in West Pokot, Kenya, to protect girls escaping female genital mutilation (FGM) through safe shelters, care, and access to education. TAF establishes schools in remote Pokot areas, enabling children to learn within their own communities, and partners with local pastors to plant and develop churches that serve as community life centers, providing spiritual care, protection, and long-term transformation.
About the ministry:
This ministry in West Pokot, Kenya, is carried out in partnership with Transforming Africa Foundation (TAF) and focuses on long-term service to vulnerable communities. The ministry addresses real and ongoing needs through protection of girls at risk, access to education, and spiritual care within local communities.
Through girls’ shelters, schools, and the support of local churches and ministers, the ministry serves children, families, and community leaders where they live. All activities are implemented together with local leaders and pastors, ensuring that the ministry is rooted in the community, culturally aware, and focused on sustainable, life-changing impact.
