Good evening people. Hello from Kenya. My name is John Baraka and together with my family (my wife and son) we are serving in Mission Assistance in Kisumu. We are pastors of New Life Church in Kapuothe which IMOCE helped and is helping us build.
We believe that this church has become a light into the community where we are and we have seen people’s lives being transformed because of the church. Many have come to know Jesus Christ and received salvation through the church as we continue to reach everyone with the Gospel of Jesus.
Just recently we had a great testimony in church when we had water baptism. About 38 people who had confessed Christ were baptized.
At the mission I also teach Year For God students. This is one year Bible school where youth from different places dedicate a year of learning more about God and ministry. This past week I was teaching about The Names of God and who Christ is to us as christians.
One of my duties as a pastor is also to preach the word of God. To speak about Jesus in people’s lives. Keep praying for us that God may give us more grace and wisdom to continue doing His work and also for the people to have receptive hearts to God’s word.
In our church we also have workers who work in different areas. It is a blessing that they can also find employment through the church. Here we were having a meeting to discuss issues of work as well as encourage one another in Jesus.
We usually have weekly discipleship classes for leaders of church ministries and church cell groups.
It is always a time of learning more about the Word of God. and also prayer together.
This past week I was talking about the need for salvation for every man and woman.
Thank you for accepting us into the team. Thank you to Anatoliy and thank you to everyone who supports us. God bless you. You are in our prayers.
Please keep us in your prayers too. We have had floods that have recently devastated our people and drove some out of their homes.
We believe that the rains will subside and we will have breakthrough in Jesus Name.
