Hello friends from the equator!
My name is Natasha, and I have been serving in Kenya, in the slums of Kisumu, on a mission of assistance for almost 7 years. Every Wednesday, we hold youth group meetings. Last Wednesday, we had a prayer meeting. Afterward, we reflected and shared a few verses with the children, encouraging them to see that if they ask with faith, God will answer. It was a beautiful ministry, especially when we worshiped God; we felt His presence and how He touched our youth.
We divided the youth into four teams, first inspiring them, and then all praying together for four things – awakening, personal needs, healing, and blessing our locality. Everyone also received treats after the service – juice, cookies, and pastries.
We concluded our youth group topic on “Listening to the Voice of God.” So, together with the youth group leader Kapote, we sat down and planned the themes and events for the entire year of youth group ministry.
We also create cool presentations for the meetings so that the youth can take notes and see great illustrations to help them better remember the lessons. Every Saturday, I spend time with the ministry team, planning meetings and assigning duties.
I’ve also started a student group with four youth groups in it. On the first lesson, they received Bibles, notebooks, and various pens to take notes. These are our children from the shelter. I faced many challenges in these two weeks. Some of the kids got into difficult situations, so there were many disputes at school. Over the two weeks, six incidents occurred. But thank God, most of the kids behave excellently.
We had a special treat for the kids – cake and sweet water. Before that, we had a great time together. Thank you very much for your support!
May the Lord bless you.
